How does my child qualify for the program?

The Head Start Program provides services to children from six weeks to five years of age.

Services are provided to pregnant women.

We encourage all interested families to apply for services
Step 2. Determine eligibility for the program by conducting an interview and submitting all documents required.
What documents will I need to enroll?

Proof of child’s age.

Health insurance card (Medicaid or Private)

Proof of family income. Any of the following is acceptable: previous year tax information
(1040 form), one month of current check stubs, or letters from employers. -
A copy of child support, TANF/FI, Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments, and SNAP benefits (if applicable).

A copy of your child’s IEP or IFSP, if your child is receiving special services.
Step 3. Notification of Application Status
What happens once I complete the application?
Once the Head Start Application is submitted you will be contacted by Head Start staff to schedule an appointment to complete an interview and turn in all required documentation to determine eligibility.
