Reducing the effects of poverty in Beaufort and Jasper counties by promoting self-sufficiency and economic independence.

Beaufort-Jasper Economic Opportunity Commission, Inc., operates several programs to fight the war on poverty in Beaufort and Jasper Counties. The programs are funded through the local municipalities, state agencies, and Federally through the Office of Community Services and Department of Health and Human Services. These programs promote self-sufficiency and economic independence by providing program eligible low-income individuals and families assistance through grants, education, job assistance, and advocacy.​
